Eusebio Sempere

Who’s Eusebio Sempere (Onil, 1923; La Cova, Onil 1985)?


- He was born in a little village in Alicante (Spain). 

In this picture, with his sister.

- He was born with visual impairment. 

- As a child he didn’t like school very much, but he loved drawing.

- He studied in Valencia and lived in Paris (France).

- He visited and lived in Cuenca for several years. 

With his nephews in the Museum of Abstract Art, in Cuenca, 1968.

- He always had problems with his sight but his paintings are really neat and clean.

- He was a painter, a sculpturer and a poem writer.

- He got lots of prizes. 


There is a 'Eusebio Sempere School' in Alicante.

If you visit the museum in the Hanging Houses (Casas Colgadas) look for works by Eusebio Sempere.
