Minerals and rocks.

Carla (P3A) sends a nice picture with: 

- A mineral: GYPSUM (above). A mineral is the same (composition and structure)... everywhere (Spain, China, Australia...). 

- A rock: GRANITE (down). A rock is a mixture of one or several minerals and they change. So you can find 'GRANITE' with different colours around the world.

Celia (P3B) has got two small 'minerals'...

- The first one is not a MINERAL, it isn't natural. It's from Puente de Vadillos (Cuenca) and it isn't natural. It's a part of the 'carborundum' making process. 

- The second one is... Can you help me to find their name? 

It looks like a mineral, black and hard. I think it is silicon-carbide (SiC, Carborundum). 

It's a solid industrial mineral crystalline.

Lucía (P3B) has got an interesting rock, a calcite-quartz geode, found in a small village near Cuenca.

Finally, Andrea (P3B) has found a 'rock' in the playground of the school. But it isn't a natural rock.

It's a block of different rocks... with cement. Thanks a lot, too!
